On April 14, 2020, Firefighter Edward Singleton of the Chicago Fire Department died in the line of duty from complications of COVID-19.
Funeral services for Singleton were held at the Taylor Funeral Home on April 22, and he was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery. He was survived by his wife and two adult children.
Singleton had been a firefighter with the Chicago Fire Department since 1987 and was stationed at Midway Airport at the time of his death.
